Job Description - Quality Engineer

ROLE: Quality Engineer
LOCATION: Oxford, UK
SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Quality Engineer to join a growing high-technology manufacturing organisation based in Oxford. This role will focus on ensuring that quality standards are met across all aspects of production, supply chain, and customer delivery, supporting the business in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance quality management systems in line with ISO9001 and other relevant industry standards.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues, utilising structured problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure quality considerations are built into processes and products.
  • Develop and monitor key quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and customer quality concerns, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Provide quality-related training and guidance to colleagues, embedding a culture of right-first-time quality.
Skills & Experience:
  • HND/Degree in an engineering, manufacturing, or quality-related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, energy, or another high-technology sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 or similar standards and auditing processes.
  • Competence in root cause analysis and improvement methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, or Lean.
  • Confident communicator with excellent analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
