Quality Engineer - Permanent

Location: UK
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Quality Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of electrical infrastructure and cable management products.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing, engineering and logistics teams, solving technical quality issues and supporting continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and developing the company's quality systems, supporting customer investigations and product approvals, and ensuring products and processes consistently meet the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

* Work closely with manufacturing and operational teams to identify, investigate and resolve quality issues.

* Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA).

* Investigate customer complaints and quality concerns, providing effective technical responses and solutions.

* Monitor and improve Right First Time (RFT) performance and other key quality measures.

* Support internal and external audits, ensuring appropriate actions are identified and completed.

* Assist with product and process approvals, ensuring relevant documentation and records are maintained.

* Support compliance with applicable ATEX and UL requirements.

* Work with suppliers where required to investigate quality issues and drive improvements.

* Assist with inspection, testing and quality control activities across manufacturing processes.

* Analyse quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement.

* Produce quality reports, documentation and performance updates.

* Work collaboratively with engineering, production, logistics and other departments to improve processes and product quality.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives and help develop a strong quality culture across the business.

* Ensure quality procedures, work instructions and documentation remain accurate and up to date.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment and will be confident investigating technical quality issues and working with different teams to implement practical solutions.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Technician or similar quality-focused role.

Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

Good understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.

Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Understanding of quality tools and techniques such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa or similar.

Experience dealing with customer complaints and investigations.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical information and quality data.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with production, engineering, logistics and customers.

A proactive, hands-on approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.

The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.

Desirable Experience

Experience or knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous:

ATEX

UL standards/approvals

Electrical or cable management products

Product testing and certification

Supplier quality

Internal/external auditing

Continuous improvement methodologies

Engineering drawings and technical specifications

Manufacturing inspection and testing

What We Offer
