The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Droitwich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a quality-focused manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications and industry standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections throughout the manufacturing process, recording inspection results, identifying non-conformances and working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing
* Read, interpret and inspect components against engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
* Carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO equipment.
* Inspect incoming materials, work in progress and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Record inspection results and report any non-conformances.
* Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Quality Documentation
* Complete and maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports and quality documentation.
* Assist with updating inspection procedures and quality documentation.
* Support calibration activities where required.
Continuous Improvement
* Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
* Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
* Assist with internal and external quality audits.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong experience interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T (essential).
* Experience using precision measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO arms.
* Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
* Experience completing inspection reports and non-conformance documentation.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
* Welding inspection knowledge or experience (advantageous but not essential).
* Experience with HVAC products or control systems.
* Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001).
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Essential Requirements
* UK Citizen.
* Full, clean UK driving licence and own transport.
