Quality Inspector

CDS Labour is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join an established aerospace precision engineering company based in Harlow.

This is a permanent opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical or precision inspection who is confident working with engineering drawings, tolerances and a range of measuring equipment.

The Role

You will join an established inspection department, carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision CNC-machined components. You will be responsible for ensuring components meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of CNC-machined components

* Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications

* Use manual inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers and gauges

* Operate inspection equipment including CMMs

* Complete and maintain FAIR documentation and quality records

* Support PPAP requirements where required

* Work in line with AS9100 procedures and maintain high quality standards

* Identify and report any quality issues or non-conformances

Essential Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in mechanical or precision inspection within a manufacturing environment

* Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances

* Competent using manual measuring equipment such as micrometres and gauges

* Basic measurement calculations and trigonometry

* Excellent attention to detail

* Strong quality-focused approach

Desirable

* Experience with CMM programming/operation, particularly Aberlink

* Knowledge of QMS systems and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100

* Experience completing FAIRs and/or supporting PPAP

Working Hours & Salary

* Permanent position

* 39 hours per week

* Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm

* Friday: 7:00am–12:00pm

* Some evening and weekend overtime may be available

* Salary up to £30,000 per year, depending on experience
