An established and rapidly growing precision manufacturing company based in Kent is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop its Quality function. Specialising in highly technical, bespoke components supplied into aerospace, medical, defence, and scientific industries, this business is renowned for its commitment to engineering excellence and compliance with the highest industry standards.

The Role

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System to ensure continued compliance with ISO9001 and customer-specific requirements. You will lead a small, dedicated quality team, drive process improvements, and play a critical role in managing internal and external audits, customer feedback, and supplier quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001 and industry-specific standards.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and effective follow-up on findings.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Liaise directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering teams.
• Manage documentation and quality metrics, reporting regularly to senior management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within a precision manufacturing, engineering, or similar regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of ISO9001:2015; knowledge of AS9100 or medical device standards would be advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, internal auditing, and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, CAPA, etc.).
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and drive a quality-focused culture.
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
