Full-Time, Permanent

£37,500 rising to £40,000 after probation

A well-established and growing manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function at its site in Sedgefield. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about maintaining high standards, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across operations.

You'll be responsible for leading the quality team, ensuring adherence to BRCGS and internal standards, managing audits, resolving quality issues, and promoting a quality-first culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the on-site Quality Team (supervisor, coordinators, auditors)
  • Oversee all aspects of product and process quality, ensuring compliance with BRCGS standards
  • Act as HACCP/HARM lead and ensure internal audit schedules are maintained
  • Work closely with production to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Handle supplier quality approvals and ensure appropriate documentation is in place
  • Investigate customer complaints, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and develop site quality systems, support ISO transitions, and coordinate external audits
  • Provide training and support to promote best practice quality standards site-wide
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior quality role within manufacturing or packaging (food-related preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and ISO systems

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Confident managing audits, reporting on KPIs, and leading quality improvement projects
