We’re looking for an ambitious and highly capable Quality Manager to lead our quality function across the manufacture, assembly, testing and delivery of high-performance subsea products and systems.
This is a pivotal role with real influence.
⭐ Benefits alongside a competitive salary include:-
37 hours per week – 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm finish on a Friday. Flexi-time is available.
10% management incentive bonus based on company performance
25 days holidays and 8 bank holidays
5% salary sacrifice pension
Private healthcare and 2x base salary life assurance
You’ll own the Quality Management System, lead our Quality team and work closely with customers, suppliers, operations and senior leadership to ensure we deliver products that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance.
From the shop floor to the boardroom, you’ll have the authority to challenge, improve and make things better.
And when quality matters most, you’ll have the authority to stop the shipment of a non-conforming product.
🚀 Your mission
Make quality a competitive advantage.
You’ll ensure quality is embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle — from contract review and supplier selection through manufacturing, inspection, testing, final acceptance and delivery.
You’ll champion continual improvement, turn data into action and ensure lessons learned become better processes, better products and better customer outcomes.
At the same time, you’ll lead and develop a talented quality team, building a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.
🎯 What you'll own
Quality Leadership
* Lead all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across manufacturing, assembly, testing and delivery.
* Own, manage and continually improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and API Q1, where applicable.
* Ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout the complete product lifecycle.
* Define and implement standards, methods and procedures for inspection, testing and product acceptance.
* Lead final acceptance testing and ensure products meet customer and business requirements.
🤝 Customers & Suppliers
You’ll be a key face of quality to our customers and supply chain.
You’ll lead customer quality interactions including:
* Customer audits
* Witness testing
* Concession requests
* Quality performance reviews
* Customer quality issues and investigations
You’ll also work closely with Supply Chain to improve supplier performance, support critical supplier audits and develop robust supplier quality assurance and control processes.
🔍 Audits, Compliance & Improvement
You’ll take ownership of our internal and external audit programme, ensuring we’re not simply maintaining certification — we’re continuously raising the bar.
You’ll:
* Lead internal and external audits.
* Manage the Kirkbymoorside internal audit programme.
* Train and develop internal auditors.
* Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Ensure robust material, component and manufacturing traceability.
* Identify trends and opportunities through quality data and performance analysis and turn problems into permanent improvements.
🧠 Problem Solving
When something goes wrong, you’ll be at the heart of finding out why — and making sure it doesn’t happen again.
You’ll lead investigations into non-conformances and customer issues, using structured root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action methodologies.
Whether it’s a manufacturing issue, supplier problem or customer concern, you'll bring rigour, curiosity and a solutions-focused mindset.
👥 Lead & Develop
You’ll directly lead the Quality team, creating an environment where people can perform, develop and take ownership.
That means:
* Coaching and mentoring your team, setting clear expectations and objectives whilst developing technical and quality capability across the organisation.
* Training colleagues on policies, procedures and quality requirements.
* Building a culture of accountability, collaboration and continual improvement.
🛠️ What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines technical quality expertise with strong leadership and commercial awareness.
You'll ideally have:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in a technical, engineering or manufacturing discipline — although significant relevant quality experience will also be considered.
* Strong ISO 9001 experience.
* Lead Auditor training.
* Experience with project quality requirements such as ITPs and Quality Plans.
* Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability.
* Experience implementing corrective and preventative actions.
* Experience working directly with customers and supply chain partners.
* Experience across multidisciplinary manufacturing environments, including machining and fabrication.
🌊 Why this role?
Because this is your opportunity to make quality matter at every level of the business.
You’ll be joining a business where the products we build have to perform when it matters most — and where quality, precision and reliability are non-negotiable.
If you’re ready to take ownership, challenge the status quo and build a quality culture that sets the standard, we want to hear from you.
