Quality Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to join a successful and established furniture manufacturing business in West Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for maintaining and improving quality standards across the manufacturing operation, ensuring products consistently meet customer, company and industry requirements.

This is a hands-on management role for someone with strong experience within a furniture, KBB, joinery, woodworking or manufacturing environment, who can identify quality issues, implement improvements and work closely with production teams to drive a strong culture of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the company's quality control processes across the manufacturing operation.

Develop, implement and maintain quality standards, procedures and inspection processes.

Carry out regular quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process, identifying defects and areas for improvement.

Investigate quality issues and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

Work closely with Production, Operations, Engineering and Purchasing teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Monitor production quality and identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Ensure finished products meet required specifications, drawings, customer requirements and quality standards before dispatch.

Maintain accurate quality records, reports and documentation.

Develop and monitor quality KPIs and provide regular reports to senior management.

Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes, ensuring appropriate quality controls are in place.

Work with suppliers to address material and component quality issues where required.

Lead quality investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Train and develop production staff on quality standards, procedures and best practice.

Promote a positive quality-first culture throughout the manufacturing operation.

Ensure the business remains compliant with relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a Quality Manager, Quality Control Manager, QA Manager or similar role within furniture manufacturing or a related manufacturing environment.

You will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and be confident identifying quality issues and implementing practical solutions.

Experience within furniture, cabinetry, KBB, joinery, woodworking or similar manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.

You will be confident working with production teams at all levels and have the ability to challenge quality issues constructively.

Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills are essential, along with excellent attention to detail.

You should be organised, commercially aware and capable of managing multiple quality priorities in a busy manufacturing environment.

* Previous quality management experience within a manufacturing environment

* Furniture, KBB, joinery or woodworking experience highly desirable

* Strong understanding of manufacturing quality control processes

What the Role Offers

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum

Location: West Yorkshire

Hours: Full-time, factory-based
