Role of the Quality Manager
The role of the Quality Manager is critical in ensuring that Verlume’s products and services meet consistent standards of quality. You will be a focal point in the team, providing both administrative and hands-on quality management and support across several business areas. It is a varied and interesting role with scope to grow as the business grows. From supporting projects, to supporting procurement and system builds, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Verlume continues to deliver high quality products and services. You’ll work with team members across all areas of the business and be involved in a variety of initiatives. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities
As the Quality Manager you will be responsible for:
Developing, implementing and maintaining quality processes and procedures in line with industry best practice and national/international standards.
Implementing an annual audit schedule and performing regular internal audits/health checks in line with the schedule .
Prepare and facilitate annual quality management reviews in line with the requirements laid out in ISO 9001.
Generating reports for management review, highlighting key quality issues and recommendations for improvement.
Monitoring production processes and implementing improvements to drive efficiencies while ensuring quality standards are met.
Conducting inspections to verify compliance while proactively identifying quality issues early and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Ensuring Verlume complies with national and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
Preparing for and managing external audits and certifications.
Working closely with Procurement department to evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure materials and components meet the required quality standards.
Perform document reviews for procured goods and services to verify compliance with the Purchase Order requirements
Overseeing product testing procedures to ensure products meet required specifications.
Maintaining detailed records of quality control tests and inspections.
Proactively raise, conduct root cause analysis, manage and facilitate closure of Non-conformances and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)
Working closely with HSE to align quality, safety and environmental standards.
Providing training and development opportunities to ensure the team is skilled and knowledgeable in quality practices.
Drive a positive Quality culture within Verlume.

Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and behaviours:
ISO 9001:2015 Lead Quality Auditor
Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
Extensive experience in a similar role, covering both Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills for reporting to management and liaising with suppliers and customers.
Ability to hold others accountable for maintaining quality standards
Ability to effectively convey complex quality issues and solutions.
Ability to analyse data and identify trends or issues that impact product quality.
Attention to detail to ensure all products meet quality standards.
Thorough documentation and record-keeping.
Ability to drive a culture of quality throughout the organisation.
Ability to implement effective corrective actions and preventative measures.
Lean Six Sigma Qualified (preferred but not essential)
Root Cause Analysis Qualified (preferred but not essential)
Incident Investigation Qualified (preferred but not essential)
