Shrewsbury (Office-based with local site visits)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you a self-motivated, detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor looking to make a real impact? Due to growth my client seeks to recruit a full-time dedicated QS with previous residential property development or housebuilding experience.

We’re seeking an experienced professional to join our close-knit and ambitious team. My client is a family run firm with ambitions to grow.

You’ll work directly with the Directors and site teams, taking full responsibility for cost planning, procurement, and financial control across multiple high-quality residential developments in and around Shrewsbury.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost estimation and budget management for new build residential projects
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tenders, and contracts
• Procurement of subcontractors and materials
• Regular site valuations, cost reporting, and cash flow forecasting
• Managing variations and ensuring project profitability
• Liaising with architects, site managers, and suppliers
• Supporting project delivery from feasibility to final account

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in residential property development or housebuilding
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management
• Confident communicator with a hands-on, practical mindset
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Ideally degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Proficient in MS Excel, estimating software, and financial reporting
