Quantity Surveyor

We are a leading recruitment agency, representing a busy regional contractor based in Plymouth.

Their Passive fire department are currently seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring all commercial procedures are adhered to, with support from the Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with Contracts Managers to complete projects within budget and on time, while also building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Day-to-day of the role:

Obtain and understand project requirements post-estimation through operations meetings.

Issue subcontractor orders in line with company processes and project programmes, achieving betterment whenever possible.

Liaise with Contract Managers to ensure all contractual processes are followed.

Evaluate and agree on variations and instructions with both clients and subcontractors.

Ensure projects are completed within budget, highlighting any potential overruns to Directors.

Issue valuations and job costs as required.

Assist with the pricing of new and existing projects.

Ensure work complies with Health & Safety legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The client is seeking a candidate with proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry.

You will have a strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.

Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to maintain positive client interactions.

Keen attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.

Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
