Quantity Surveyor

Overview

My client is a leading regional contractor with established offices across South Wales and the South West of England.

Following several significant tender wins and the securing of a long-term framework, they are looking to strengthen their expanding commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

The business delivers a diverse range of projects, typically valued between £5m and £30m, across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, cladding remediation and fire protection.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider commercial and operational teams, supporting the financial and commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account.

* Preparing and maintaining accurate cost reports and forecasts.

* Assisting with subcontract procurement and management.

* Managing valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.

* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

* Working closely with project teams to ensure effective cost control and project delivery.

* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

* Applying a sound understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT Design & Build.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working for a main contractor and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial management, cost control and subcontract procurement. Candidates looking to progress their career into a Senior Quantity Surveyor position will be particularly well supported.
