Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Package

The Company

Our client is an established specialist roofing and building envelope contractor delivering projects across London, the South East and wider UK. With expertise in roofing, waterproofing, cladding and specialist roof systems, they work across a range of commercial and construction sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with roofing experience to join their commercial team and support the successful financial delivery of projects.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of roofing projects from procurement through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will help ensure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitability and maintaining strong commercial control.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial and financial aspects of roofing projects from initial procurement through to final account.

Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reports.

*

Measure and value works, preparing valuations, variations and applications for payment.

*

Manage subcontractor procurement, enquiries, payments and final accounts.

*

Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and implement measures to protect profitability.

*

Review contracts, specifications and project documentation to ensure contractual compliance.

*

Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to resolve commercial issues.

*

Identify and negotiate variations, additional works and change orders.

*

Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular cost and progress updates.

*

Support the successful delivery of projects in line with contractual requirements and commercial objectives.

Requirements

*

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

*

Essential roofing experience, ideally with a roofing contractor or specialist subcontractor.

*

Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials and associated construction works.

*

Experience managing valuations, variations, procurement, cost control and final accounts.

*

Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.

*

Strong negotiation, analytical and organisational skills.

*

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and subcontractors.

*

Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial or estimating software.

*

Full, valid UK driving licence.

Salary of £45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
