Quantity Surveyor - Civils & Infrastructure

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established contractor based in Horsham, West Sussex.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and industrial projects, with experience managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender and procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the commercial aspects of civils and industrial projects from start to finish.

* Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.

* Manage valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.

* Identify, price and manage variations and additional works.

* Prepare and manage subcontractor packages, orders and payments.

* Review subcontractor accounts and agree final accounts.

* Monitor project costs and commercial performance.

* Assist with tendering, estimating and procurement.

* Review contracts, scopes of work and commercial obligations.

* Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

* Attend client and project meetings.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

* Work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams and Directors.

* Carry out regular site visits to monitor progress and commercial performance.

* Prepare regular commercial reports for senior management.

* Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual and commercial requirements.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.

* Strong civils / civil engineering background.

* Experience working on industrial projects.

* Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.

* Experience with valuations, variations, subcontract accounts and final accounts.

* Strong cost control and financial reporting skills.

* Good understanding of procurement and subcontract management.

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Commercially aware with good attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

* Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification.

* Full UK driving licence.

This is a hands-on Quantity Surveyor role suited to someone who can take ownership of the commercial side of projects, work closely with operational teams and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
