An established construction business is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor, with candidates at all levels of experience considered.
The role will involve managing the commercial aspects of live projects, working closely with project and delivery teams to maintain cost control, maximise margins and ensure projects are delivered profitably.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing applications for payment and valuations.
* Pricing variations and additional works.
* Checking subcontractor labour invoices and issuing payment notices.
* Liaising with subcontractors regarding claims for additional works.
* Maintaining accurate records of payments made.
* Assisting with the checking and administration of subcontracts and associated documentation.
* Attending pre-contract meetings and assisting with commercial negotiations.
* Measuring and quantifying works using on-screen measurement software.
* Liaising with Project Managers and visiting live sites.
* Providing commercial support to project delivery teams.
* Setting up project budgets following contract awards.
* Forecasting labour, materials and preliminaries expenditure.
* Re-tendering materials through established supplier networks to ensure competitive costs.
* Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and maximise project margins.
* Producing labour target sheets and cost control documentation.
* Regularly updating project budgets and forecasts.
* Producing accurate financial reports for senior management.
Requirements
* Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry.
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
* Good understanding of subcontractor accounts, valuations and variations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Good IT and commercial software skills.
* Dry-lining experience is highly desirable.
* Candidates at all levels will be considered depending on experience and capability.
Package
* £30,000 – £60,000 salary depending on experience.
* Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
* 28 days' holiday including bank holidays.
* Company vehicle, subject to overall package.
