They are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their thriving Contracting team in North Devon.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to perform effectively under pressure, meet deadlines reliably, and demonstrate confidence in using their own initiative.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects, typically ranging from £100,000 to £10 million. Collaborate effectively as part of a bid team during the estimating and tendering process. Analyse and interpret project specifications, drawings, and tender documentation. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure precise cost planning. Monitor project progress and provide regular, detailed cost reports. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend suitable value-engineering solutions. Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, including processing and payment of accounts. Undertake monthly valuations and monitor project payments to ensure financial accuracy. Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities. Monitor project expenditure to help ensure delivery within agreed budgets. Support the successful commercial delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or in a similar commercial construction role. Experience in both quantity surveying and estimating is highly desirable. Minimum of three years’ experience in surveying and/or estimating. Strong understanding of construction cost control principles and techniques. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities. Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Effective at managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. Possession of a full driving licence is essential.
