Our client, a leading highway maintenance contractor, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Highways team. As the UK's number one highway maintenance contractor, the team uses the latest innovations to create effective solutions, offering a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and secure approval for monthly payment applications. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Develop and manage target cost contracts, including cost forecasting and risk mitigation. Monitor and control project costs against budgets and forecasts to maintain financial performance. Compile and analyse cost reports and commercial performance reviews. Prepare and review subcontractor packages, valuations, and final accounts. Support change-management processes, including assessment, pricing, and negotiation of variations. Contribute to the preparation of tender documentation and the development of procurement strategies. Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate cost capture and timely reporting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.
Job Requirements:
Experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in the infrastructure or civil engineering sectors. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Knowledge of Target Cost Contracts (NEC3/NEC4). Experience in preparing and managing payment applications and CVR/commercial administration. Strong numerical and analytical abilities and excellent stakeholder communication skills. Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CEMAR/Causeway-CPA is advantageous.
