I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing contractor delivering planned works, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects across Gloucestershire, however can be based in a Bristol office.
This role will support long-term local authority contracts covering kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, decarbonisation programmes and external works, with projects taking place in occupied residential properties. Experience within social housing, planned maintenance or refurbishment environments would be highly desirable, although candidates from other construction sectors who can quickly adapt will also be considered.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having visibility across both the commercial and operational aspects of projects, rather than being limited to a purely commercial function.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple capital works projects valued up to £3m, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
Duties will include:
Preparing estimates, tenders and cost plans. Measuring works and producing accurate valuations. Managing budgets and cost value reconciliations. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Producing monthly valuations and financial reports. Monitoring project performance against budget and programme. Managing variations and ensuring commercial recovery. Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. Supporting procurement, cash flow management and commercial reporting.
What I'm Looking For
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Surveyor. Experience managing construction, refurbishment, planned maintenance or capital works contracts. Ability to commercially manage projects valued up to £3 million. Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness. A proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and maximise contract value. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Organised, proactive and collaborative approach to working.
