Quantity Surveyor, Tier 2, Rail

£45,000-£60,000 | BNEC | Tier 2 Subcontractor

An established Tier 2 infrastructure subcontractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting major rail and civil engineering works at BNEC.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to develop their experience within a major infrastructure environment, with exposure to subcontract management, commercial reporting, valuations, variations and final accounts.

The Role

Manage commercial aspects of rail and civil engineering packages.
Manage subcontractor and supply chain accounts.
Handle valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
Monitor costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
Review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Support procurement and package management.
Ensure contractual notices and commercial correspondence are managed effectively.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team.
Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.

About You

We're looking for a QS with:

Experience within rail, civils or major infrastructure.
Ideally, experience working for a Tier 2 or specialist subcontractor.
Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
Experience managing subcontract packages through to final account.
Strong understanding of valuations, variations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
Good commercial, analytical and negotiation skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction qualification is desirable.
