Quantity Surveyor – The Opportunities

Foresight Search is currently working with a number of established construction main contractors across Bristol and the surrounding area, with several Quantity Surveyor opportunities available at different levels.

These roles cover a range of construction projects and contractor environments, from growing regional businesses through to larger established contractors. Salaries and packages vary depending on experience, with opportunities suitable for Quantity Surveyors looking to take their next step as well as more experienced Senior QSs.

Rather than advertising each position separately, we are keen to speak with good main contracting Quantity Surveyors who would be interested in understanding what is currently available across the Bristol market.

Opportunities range from approximately £40,000 to £70,000 plus car allowance and wider benefits, depending on experience and the specific role.

Quantity Surveyor – Typical Responsibilities

* Commercial management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account

* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages

* Preparation and agreement of valuations, variations and final accounts

* Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management

* Subcontractor payments and commercial administration

* Working closely with site, project and contracts management teams

* Managing commercial risk and identifying opportunities

* Liaising with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders

* Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed commercial targets

Quantity Surveyor – The Person

* Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction

* Ideally experience working for a main contractor

* Comfortable managing your own workload and commercial responsibilities

* Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes

* Strong communication and negotiation skills

* Relevant construction qualification beneficial but not essential

* Based within a reasonable commute of Bristol / the surrounding area

Quantity Surveyor – The Package

* £40,000 – £70,000 depending on experience and opportunity

* Car allowance / company car depending on employer
