R&D Assistant
Location: Clevedon, North Somerset
Hours: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm
Friday: 8:45am - 4:00pm
45-minute paid lunch break
Salary: Competitive
We are recruiting for an R&D Assistant to join a leading food manufacturing business specialising in flavourings and seasonings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career within food product development, working as part of an innovative Research & Development team in a modern laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities of an R&D Assistant:
* Prepare product samples to meet customer requirements.
* Pack and despatch samples accurately and on time.
* Communicate sample despatch details and technical information to customers.
* Maintain accurate records of sample requests and shipments.
* Prepare meeting and tasting areas for customer visits.
* Ensure refreshments and meeting facilities are fully stocked and presented.
* Assist with lunch preparation for customer visits when required.
* Ensure all work complies with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Work closely with the R&D, Commercial and Marketing teams.
* Support the development of new products within the R&D department.
Key Skills of an R&D Assistant:
* Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proactive with the ability to use initiative.
* A positive team player with a flexible approach.
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
* Basic food hygiene knowledge is desirable, although training will be provided.
* Keen to develop a career within food manufacturing or product development.
