We are partnering with a leading food manufacturing business seeking an ambitious Raw Material Manager to take ownership of supplier assurance, raw material compliance, and supply chain integrity. This is a strategic role where you'll work at the heart of quality, sustainability, and food safety, ensuring every ingredient entering the business meets the highest standards of quality, legality, and ethical sourcing.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the supplier assurance programme, managing supplier approval, onboarding, compliance monitoring, and performance improvement across a global supply base Drive raw material risk management through supplier audits, vulnerability assessments, food fraud prevention, VACCP programmes, and robust change control processes Own raw material specifications, ensuring all ingredient data, allergen controls, nutritional information, origin claims, and compliance requirements remain accurate and audit-ready Investigate supplier non-conformances, quality incidents, and complaints, leading root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions Partner with Procurement, Technical, Operations, NPD, and Commercial teams to support product innovation, supplier selection, and customer requirements Champion ethical sourcing, sustainability initiatives, and governance frameworks, ensuring suppliers meet regulatory, customer, and corporate responsibility standards Monitor emerging supply chain risks, industry developments, and legislative changes to protect product integrity and business continuity Support customer, certification, and regulatory audits while delivering insightful supplier performance reporting and continuous improvement projects
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience within Supplier Assurance, Raw Material Quality, Technical, QA, or Supply Chain Management in food manufacturing or FMCG Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GFSI standards, food legislation, traceability, food fraud prevention, and supplier risk assessment Experience managing supplier approvals, audits, non-conformance investigations, and supplier performance improvement programmes Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal teams at all levels Highly organised with strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to supplier sites when required
