About the RE Teacher Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated RE Teacher to join our high-achieving RE department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach RE across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students with engaging lessons and fostering their spiritual and moral development.

Key Responsibilities of the RE Teacher:

• Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and religious backgrounds.


• Create a respectful and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable to discuss religious ideas and beliefs.


• Teach a variety of religious traditions and worldviews, promoting understanding and tolerance.


• Encourage students to engage with RE in a meaningful way, developing their critical thinking and analytical skills.


• Assess and monitor student progress in RE, providing constructive feedback and support.


• Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum and departmental resources.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of RE teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.


• A degree in RE, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.


• Experience teaching RE at the secondary level.


• A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for RE.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• A passion for RE and a commitment to inspiring students.
