A Leading Specialist in temporary temperature control and rapid-deployment HVAC hire solutions is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled Chiller Engineer to cover the Midlands and wider UK operations from their Redditch depot. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to lead complex installations, commissioning, and reactive fault-finding on large-scale air-cooled chillers across critical commercial and industrial environments.

The Opportunity:

You will play a vital role in providing fast, reliable temporary cooling and temperature control solutions to protect client operations during planned outages and critical plant failures. Your day-to-day remit involves:

Executing the installation, commissioning, servicing, and decommissioning of temporary commercial air-cooled chillers and chilled water systems.

Delivering reactive breakdown response and diagnostic fault-finding on complex chiller plant and associated secondary chilled water distribution circuits.

Supporting depot operations in Redditch when not deployed in the field, including workshop servicing, testing, equipment prep, and yard-based maintenance.

Modifying and interfacing mechanical pipework and working alongside BMS controls within commercial plant rooms and temporary hire setups.

Technical Essentials:

To be successful, you must demonstrate high-level technical proficiency and a proactive approach to hands-on site delivery:

Mandatory: F-Gas Refrigeration certification and a clean UK Driving License. (Ability to pass a standard DBS check required).

Compliance/Systems: Strong working knowledge of chilled systems, AHUs, electrical services, control wiring, and BMS interfaces.

Experience: Verified hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, and commissioning commercial air-cooled chillers (essential: proven track record on genuine chiller systems, rather than solely VRF/VRV units). Prior experience within temporary hire or a fast-paced reactive service environment is highly desirable.

Mobility: Daily commutable access to the Redditch depot for yard-based duties, with full flexibility for nationwide site travel, varied weather conditions, and occasional overnight stays (typically 1–2 nights for complex installations).

The Package:

Competitive base salary tailored to industry experience, complemented by substantial overtime and enhanced out-of-hours pay rates.

Clear pay enhancement structure: Yard-based hours 08:00–17:00 (standard rate); Site-based days typically include standard daily pay plus 2 additional paid hours.

Enhanced travel and out-of-hours rates (Monday–Friday: 1.5x hourly rate between 05:00–07:00 & 18:00–22:00; 2.0x between 22:00–05:00. Weekend work paid at 1.5x or 2.0x).
