About the client:
Our client, a specialist in recycling and reusing refrigerators and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, is seeking a Reactive Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic Engineering team.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who thrive in diverse and challenging work environments. Candidates with electrical qualifications and an industrial background will be preferred. The role is best suited for an engineer with mechanical bias and some electrical skills, comfortable with both project work and reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities :
Reactive Maintenance: Perform reactive maintenance across the site to ensure optimal performance.
Mechanical Tasks: Replace bearings, conduct compressor checks, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Documentation: Complete all relevant documentation to a high standard.
Site Maintenance: Perform basic facility and site service maintenance as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement new methods and procedures to improve plant operations.
Skills and Experience:
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with conveyors, welding pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems.
Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail is vital.
Team Player: Ability to work as part of a small team with a flexible and right first-time approach.
Quick Learner: Ability to understand work-based instructions and adapt to new ways of working quickly.
Requirements:
Minimum Education: Level 3 qualification.
Mechanical Knowledge: Essential knowledge of bearings, compressors, chains, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience: Prior experience in a production-driven environment or recycling plant is advantageous.
Shift Details:
Rotating Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (06:00-18:00 & 18:00-06:00) on a rotating basis (3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off).
Training Period: Initially, the hours will be 06:00-18:00 only for 2 to 3 months during training.
Flexibility Required: Applicants must be flexible as the shift pattern may change.
