Reactive Mobile Engineer

Key Responsibilities

* Reactive call-outs: Attend jobs issued by our allocators, who will plan your daily schedule and route. Sign in on arrival at each site and follow any client-specific access or safety procedures.

* Repairs and replacement: Diagnose faults quickly and accurately, fix damaged parts, replace broken components and restore systems to a safe, working condition.

* Building fabric: Carry out general building fabric and groundworks repairs, such as doors, locks, fixtures and fittings, patch repairs, paving and minor external works.

* Plumbing: Handle everyday plumbing tasks, including changing taps, tracing and repairing leaks, and clearing blocked sinks and WCs.

* Quoting and follow-ups: Where a job cannot be completed on the first visit, identify the materials, parts and time needed so that a follow-up can be quoted and booked correctly.

* Reporting: Update each job on the PDA after every visit, recording the work carried out, time on site, parts used and any further work required. Accurate notes are essential so jobs can be invoiced, quoted and closed correctly.

* Health and safety: Work safely at all times, complete any required risk assessments, and leave every site clean and tidy.

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience in building fabric maintenance, ideally in a commercial or reactive environment.

* Strong all-round trade skills, with a practical, hands-on approach.

* A good working knowledge of general plumbing.

* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to work on your own.

* Comfortable using a PDA or mobile app, including logging on and off job portals and updating jobs accurately.

* Good communication and customer service skills. You will often be the face of the company on site.

* A full UK driving licence.

* Flexibility to join the on-call rota and to work occasional evenings, nights and weekends.

Hours, Travel and On-Call

* Core hours are 08:00 to 17:30 on site, unless alternative arrangements have been made with the client.

* The first half hour of your journey to your first job and home from your last job is in your own time. All travel beyond that is paid at single time rate.

* You will be on the on-call rota for approximately one week in every six.

* Some out-of-hours work, including nights and weekends, will be required from time to time
