Real Estate Financial Controller

High-Profile International Real Estate Investment and Development company.

An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a prestigious, well capitalised, international real estate investment and development business with a substantial UK portfolio.

This is a highly significant role offering direct exposure to major development projects and complex investment structures. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring best-in-class financial reporting across a portfolio of UK entities and joint ventures.

THE ROLE:

As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the financial management and reporting function while partnering closely with operational and executive stakeholders.

The core responsibilities will be to:

1. Lead all aspects of financial reporting across multiple UK entities and joint ventures.
2. Deliver timely and insightful monthly management accounts, consolidations and performance reporting.
3. Oversee the preparation of annual statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.
4. Drive budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning activities.
5. Provide financial analysis and reporting on major development and investment projects.
6. Support Board-level reporting, investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
7. Manage treasury operations, funding requirements and cash flow across the portfolio.
8. Identify opportunities to enhance controls, improve reporting processes and drive operational efficiencies.
9. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks.
10. Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team.

THE PERSON:

The preferred candidate will:

1. Be a qualified accountant, (ACA or ACCA) with proven experience within a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role (in real estate).
2. Possess strong IFRS and statutory reporting expertise.
3. Demonstrate experience operating within complex group or multi-entity structures.
4. Possess excellent leadership and people management capabilities.
5. Be able to show advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
6. Be a proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
