Real Estate Underwriter

IPS Group is working closely with one of the world’s largest commercial Insurers to help establish and grow their regional real estate presence. This is an exciting new role in a new Real Estate team. The team has built a strong reputation, especially for leading large European projects, and now they are focusing on expanding across the UK regions and mid-market. In this role, you’ll underwrite Property and Liability risks for Real Estate clients of all sizes, from smaller single-property risks to large multinational accounts. At first, you’ll mainly focus on new business, but over time you’ll also handle some renewals. You’ll support UK regions including Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Maidstone, and some London broker business. Working closely with the UKI distribution team, local property managers, brokers, and clients will be a big part of your day. You’ll also team up with claims, risk engineering, global services, and other underwriting teams to deliver excellent service and cross-line solutions.

Your day-to-day will include underwriting new and renewal business according to guidelines, helping to meet financial targets, keeping everything compliant, and representing the team internally and externally. Building strong relationships with brokers and clients and spotting opportunities for business growth and cross-selling will also be key.

We’re looking for someone with either existing real estate underwriting experience or an established property and casualty Underwriter looking for a fresh challenge in real estate.
