Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is a family-run business, established in 1982 and proudly owned and operated by the Smith family. Over the years, we’ve grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company into a diverse and multi-faceted group. Despite our growth, we’ve retained strong family values at the heart of everything we do.

With depots in Gloucester, Stonehouse, Tewkesbury, Avonmouth and Cardiff, we operate primarily across the South West of England. Our core divisions include Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition, and Transport.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a confident and organised Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a customer service role


• Be comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-faceting business environment 


• Possess strong communication and administrative skills


• Be proactive, reliable and able to multitask effectively 

Hours: 8.30am - 5pm 

Key Responsibilities

• Answering telephone enquiries 


• General administrative duties 


• Greeting and assisting visitors 


• Managing the company mailbox and responding to enquiries in a timely manner


• Receive and distribute post 


• General daily administration tasks including data input and emails
