Permanent, full time (37 hours) with flexibility for part time

It is important we can pay our suppliers on time to ensure our business can deliver its purpose of bringing environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop. As a team we are responsible for managing payments to around 2500 Suppliers with approximately 15000 invoice documents per month totalling £70m worth of spend. This role is responsible for ensuring payments are processed and tracked accurately for all Anglian Water Group companies, this is essential to the production of our annual balance sheet.

Lead the team in supplier statement reconciliations, dealing with supplier queries and ensuring the ledgers are kept up to date and maintained correctly. To be successful in this role it is crucial that you are able to take a stand back view and understand the end-to-end process and work with the business, suppliers and the rest of the AP team to ensure things run as efficiently as possible. It is important we can pay our suppliers on time to ensure our business can deliver its purpose of bringing environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure GR/IR accounts is cleared down in a timely manner and investigate any issues
  • Work with business and P2P to ensure that GRN’s are entered accurately and in a timely manner
  • Clear SAP VIM admin tool
  • Manage the Reconciliations team inbox and calls, ensuring all incoming reconciliation and payment
  • related queries are logged, prioritised, and responded to within agreed service levels
  • Act as the first point of contact for payment

What does it take to be successful?

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Apps particularly Excel and Word
  • Ability to motivate a team and prioritise workload
  • Numerate and computer literate.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Team player with ability to be flexible in your approach and way of thinking to enable effective problem solving.
  • Ability to use initiative and at times work independently and as part of a team
