Job Description - Recruitment Consultant

Utility People is a specialist recruitment agency with over 50 years of combined experience in consulting with clients and candidates within the Energy, Water, and Utilities sectors across the UK. Our team of recruitment professionals boasts a wide-reaching industry network, enabling us to consistently place skilled professionals in suitable roles with leading organisations.

The Role
As a Recruitment Consultant for Utility People, your primary role will be to source, attract and recruit top talent for our clients. You will be responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process, from understanding our client’s hiring needs to sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and recommending candidates for placement. In addition to recruitment activities, you will also be responsible for business development activities to grow our client base and expand our network.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their hiring needs and priorities.
Utilise Boolean search techniques to identify and engage potential candidates.
Source and screen candidates through various channels such as job boards, LinkedIn, social media and referrals.
Conduct in depth interviews of candidates to assess their skills and fit for the role and compose candidate profiles for shortlisted applicants.
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from initial candidate sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and placement.
Provide ongoing support and communication to both candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions, job specifications, and client communications using our internal systems.
Coordinate interviews, assessments, and feedback sessions between candidates and clients, ensuring a seamless recruitment experience for all parties involved.
Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform recruitment strategies and enhance market knowledge.
Build customer relationships with both new and existing clients in a competitive market through a variety of channels including networking and exhibition events.
Meet and exceed recruitment targets and KPIs set by the company.

Business Development Responsibilities

Identifying potential clients and opportunities for business growth
Both warm and cold calling as well as networking to establish new relationships with clients.
Attending industry events and conferences to promote our services and build our brand.
Developing proposals and presentations to pitch our services to potential clients.
Providing exceptional customer service and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

What you need to succeed
Previous experience as a Recruitment Consultant preferably within the Energy, Water, or Utilities sectors
A solid understanding of the recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, and placement processes.
Proficiency in Boolean search techniques and sourcing candidates from various online platforms and databases
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with candidates, clients, and colleagues.
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding recruitment targets
A team player with a collaborative mindset
