Refrigeration Engineer

We are currently recruiting a Mobile Refrigeration Engineer on behalf of our client to support industrial sites across the East Midlands. The ideal candidate will have experience working on refrigeration systems within industrial environments such as factories and warehouses. Experience working with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems is essential.

Please note: A valid UK Driving Licence is required for this role.

Refrigeration Engineer Duties:

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and service visits across food manufacturing facilities, distribution centres, and industrial warehouses.
• Work on a wide range of refrigeration systems including Recip, Scroll, and Screw compressor packs, and installations using Ammonia, CO2, and HFC/HFO refrigerants.
• Attend breakdowns during working hours and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and client representatives to deliver high-quality service and meet performance expectations.
• Ensure all work is carried out with commercial awareness, following company procedures and compliance standards.
• Take full responsibility for the quality, safety, and completion of each engineering task in line with contractual and industry standards.
• Comply with all current health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices

Refrigeration Engineer Requirements:

• Strong background in industrial refrigeration engineering and a clear understanding of customer needs in this sector.
• Hold relevant technical certifications such as 2079 Refrigerant Handling, ACRIB, and Ammonia-related qualifications.
• Completed an approved apprenticeship or formal training in industrial refrigeration.
• Confident in performing maintenance and service on medium to large-scale refrigeration systems.
• Skilled in diagnosing faults on large central plant systems and familiar with compressors such as Grasso, Sabroe, J&E Hall, GEA, and Mycom.

Salary and Package:

• £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
• Overtime paid at 1.5x on weekdays and 2x on weekends
• Day off in lieu for working bank holidays
