Refuse LGV Driver

REFUSE LGV DRIVER -including loading duties (Internal only)

SALARY: £33,814.00 per annum

HOURS: 39 per week Monday-Friday

LOCATION: Based at Albert Road, Bristol

We are currently recruiting internally for a LGV Driver to work on the Refuse Collections Service. 

Purpose of the role:

As a Class 2 Driver/Loader you will be driving the company vehicle safely, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials according to the agreed customer requirements, Bristol Waste Company procedure and all external legal requirements. 

Whilst the position is predominantly based on the Refuse Service, there is a requirement to work on any collections service as the business requires. 

• Overtime - required to tip lorry on the evening off site may require overtime. 
• Training 
• Fuelling up trucks daily

Key Responsibilities:

• To drive / operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and legal requirements and as required by the company in accordance with the valid licence, experience and training for that vehicle / equipment
• Responsible to ensure route completion and tasks are completed to Bristol Waste Company’s, required standards
• Tipping of vehicle at designated and approved refuse facility and to load and unload waste materials in accordance with Bristol Waste Company’s policy, procedures, training and legal requirements, complying with all health and safety requirements
• To use mobile IT equipment (Alloy) and to complete daily paperwork as appropriate
• Undertake any training / instruction required to carry out these duties and or deemed necessary to fulfil the role
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of vehicles and equipment to a high standard, including daily vehicle checks on any vehicle driven
• To deal with colleagues, customers and other non – Bristol Waste Company personnel in a polite, responsible and professional manner
• To remain in contact with Supervisor and office staff and be responsive to operational needs and to aid Commercial growth through close relationships with sales staff and reporting back any opportunities for growth
• To work flexibly between location, including Avonmouth, Albert Road Depot and Hartcliffe, to provide operational cover across the services of Commercial, Street Cleansing, Garden Waste, Refuse and Recycling and to carry out all other tasks deemed reasonable

Essential Requirements for the Role:

• Open to internal candidates only. 
• Qualified as a class 2 Driver with up-to-date licence, CPC and Digital Drivers Card.
