Job Description - Regional Programmes Support Coordinator

Regional Programmes Support Coordinator

Manchester, UK

Starting salary for this position is £35,604 per annum (plus contributory pension)

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the role:

You will act as the focal point for a portfolio of programmes, supporting the development and maintenance of country-specific donor relationships and strategies. You will work closely with staff around the globe, including the relevant Regional Director, Regional Programmes Support Manager, and Country Management Teams, to support the delivery of country strategy and business plans. This will involve effective coordination and representation of the regional portfolio both externally and within MAG to ensure multi-programme proposal development and reporting. You will provide high quality grant and donor management in line with contractual obligations and established processes and procedures. You will ensure business development through research, engagement, and proposal writing. You will also be required to travel regularly to programmes within the regional portfolio, expected at 25% of working time.

Please note that as part of MAG's commitment to safeguarding, this post is subject to background checks before an offer of employment is confirmed. For more information on MAG’s approach to safeguarding and background checks on our website.

MAG is committed to the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion. If you think you would be suited to one of our roles we would welcome your application regardless of your background. We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive working environment where all employees feel respected and supported in fulfilling their potential.

About you:

You should have excellent organisational skills, with demonstrable experience developing, supporting, and monitoring overseas projects and programmes. You will have experience developing successful relationships with donors, including experience working with institutional donors such as governmental departments, the EU, or the UN. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, and you should be able to quality review a range of donor communications including proposals, budgets, and reports. You will be self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic, able to establish effective working relationships at all levels and ensure interdepartmental communication and collaboration across a range of functions. Additional language skills, particularly French, would be advantageous.
