Job Description - Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse

Band 5 Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD)


Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week


Salary: £32,000 - £38,000

Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 5 Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) to join their in-patient Acute and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to high-quality mental health care in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with a valid UK NMC Pin.

  • Experience in acute mental health settings, including knowledge of PICU procedures.

  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions, treatments, and interventions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and colleagues.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a demanding environment.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop tailored care plans.

  • Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and make necessary adjustments.

  • Provide therapeutic interventions and emotional support to aid patient recovery.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.

  • Advocate for patient rights while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Maintain accurate patient records to ensure continuity of care.
