Job Description - Registered Manager

Are you an experienced children's residential Registered Manager looking for an opportunity to build and lead a brand-new service?

We are recruiting for a Registered Manager to oversee an exciting new children's residential provision in Lanchester, County Durham, offering a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum, performance-related bonuses and excellent opportunities for career progression.

This unique development comprises three modern barn-conversion homes, each providing individual accommodation for a young person aged 7–17. Set within peaceful countryside surroundings, the homes will operate under a single Ofsted registration, providing a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.

Working alongside an experienced Responsible Individual and Director, you'll have the opportunity to recruit your own team, establish a positive culture and shape the service from the ground up.

The Role

As Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Lead the development and opening of the new children's residential provision, including preparation for Ofsted registration.
Recruit, manage and develop a dedicated residential care team, promoting a positive and supportive working culture.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, regulatory compliance and quality assurance across all three homes.
Oversee individual care plans, admissions, transitions and outcomes for young people with complex needs.
Champion trauma-informed and PACE-based approaches, ensuring children receive consistent, person-centred support.
Build effective relationships with local authorities, families, social workers and external professionals.
Manage staffing, budgets, training, health and safety and the day-to-day operation of the service.
Work closely with senior leadership to support the continued development and long-term success of the provision.

Requirements

To be considered for this Registered Manager opportunity, you will need:

A minimum of 5 years' experience within children's residential care.
At least 2 years' experience in a management or senior leadership position.
Previous experience supporting children with learning disabilities and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
A proven track record of achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
Strong knowledge of children's residential care regulations, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
A full UK driving licence.

Benefits
Up to £65,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
Performance-related bonuses linked to Ofsted outcomes and occupancy.
31 days' annual leave, including bank holidays, plus your birthday off.
Additional paid on-call allowance.
Fully funded qualifications and professional development.
Wellness allowance and Employee Assistance Programme.
Company vehicle where required and mileage reimbursement.
Meals provided when working on shift.
Blue Light Card and employee discounts.
Employee referral bonuses and company social events.
Genuine progression opportunities into Area Manager, Senior Management or Responsible Individual positions.
