Job Description - Registered Manager - Childrens Residential Home

Registered Manager - Children’s Residential Home

Location: London

Salary: £60,000 - £100,000 per annum (inclusive of bonuses and benefits)

Job type: Permanent, full-time

About the role:

An established care provider is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a new therapeutic children’s residential home in London. This is a rare opportunity to shape a home from its inception within a values-led organisation that provides robust operational support.

Whether you are an experienced Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager ready for your next step, you will be fully supported by a dedicated senior team including specialists in regulation, placements, administration, and commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the children’s home
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and high-quality care of all residents
  • Develop and lead a cohesive, motivated, and well-trained staff team
  • Create and manage personalised care plans tailored to each child’s needs
  • Maintain a nurturing, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment
  • Lead safeguarding and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
  • Liaise effectively with external professionals and agencies
  • Advocate for the development and aspirations of each young person

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential care setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation and trauma-informed approaches
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multi-agency working and effective care planning
  • Confident in addressing challenges and supporting team accountability
  • Passion for helping vulnerable children thrive in a safe and stable environment
