Are you an experienced Deputy Manager in children’s residential care ready to take the next step and run your own home?

CANDL Recruitment is working with a growing children’s residential provider to appoint a Registered Manager for a high-spec 4-bed EBD home in East Finchley.

The home is being developed by a hands-on Director who has moved into children’s residential care following a successful background in education. There is a clear vision to build a high-quality home with the right culture from the outset, rather than simply opening another service.

The provider is particularly interested in an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to step up into their first Registered Manager position. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the home, build and develop your team and work closely with a Director who is invested in getting the service right.

Previous Registered Manager experience is not essential.

The Role

• Lead the day-to-day management of the children’s home
• Recruit, manage and develop a strong staff team
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child-centred care
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
• Oversee care plans, risk assessments and placement planning
• Lead supervisions, appraisals and staff development
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, families and professionals
• Lead the home through Ofsted registration and future inspections
• Create a positive culture focused on achieving excellent outcomes for young people

About You

• Current or recent Deputy Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
• Strong EBD/SEMH children’s residential experience
• Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent
• Level 5 Leadership & Management completed or working towards
• Strong understanding of Ofsted, safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
• Experience leading and developing residential teams
• Confident with compliance, care planning and risk management
• Ambitious and ready to take ownership of your first home
