Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a newly opened, high-spec residential provision for children and young people.
This is a unique chance to shape and lead a specialist service, providing bespoke, trauma-informed care for a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs—making a lasting and meaningful difference in their life.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the leadership, management, and day-to-day operations of a residential children’s home. You will create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance are consistently achieved.
Working with a dedicated 3:1 staffing model, you will lead by example—championing the rights, choices, and wellbeing of the young person while building a strong, supportive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop a skilled residential care team
Provide strong leadership, supervision, and mentorship to staff
Create a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the young person
Deliver and embed trauma-informed care practices
Promote positive behaviour through approaches such as PACE and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and risk management
Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory standards
Build effective partnerships with local authorities, education providers, health professionals and families
Manage complex behaviours and respond effectively to crisis situations
Maintain high standards within the home environment
Prepare for and exceed expectations during inspections and monitoring visits
Support the young person in daily routines, activities, and appointments
What We’re Looking For
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting
Proven experience supporting young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and solo provision care
Excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills
A resilient, reflective and compassionate approach
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
Full UK driving licence
