This consultant led healthcare start-up is going to experience significant growth in revenues, headcount, services and facilities over the next few years, with aspirational targets projected to 2031.
The clinic has ten outpatient rooms, diagnostics and three minor procedure rooms. The highly motivated post holder will lead the nursing and multi-professional team clinically and managerially. You will work with your team to ensure that patients receive safe and excellent care. This is an exciting role as you are setting up a new clinic and will be involved in the commissioning and development .

The main duties of this role are to set up the clinic day to day running, ensure well lead services as a clinical expert and provide feedback and mentorship to the team members, to improve the quality and service of patient care, and to develop the team and the services to match the patient needs. The role also involves working closely with the Clinic Director and Patient Services Manager

Job Summary:
To lead and manage a clinical team and patient services, using effective systems to deliver innovative and evidence-based care. To support the senior management team and be a visible clinical leader in the department. To work with the multi-disciplinary team in the clinic; giving specialist nursing advice to help deliver high quality and individualised patient care to all patients. To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to review current practice and implement change to improve the patient experience.
Take responsibility for monitoring expenditure against agreed budgets contributing to effective financial management. This includes identification of any actual or potential deviation from budgets.

Principal Accountabilities:
Actively and positively contribute to the clinic's overall success. Organize and oversee all clinical activity within the nursing department and clinic. Investigate and take appropriate actions on incidents, accidents and complaints in line with policy and procedures, reporting them to the relevant consultants and/or Head of Outpatient services. Develop and implement clinical governance within the clinic by using risk management, education, training and continuing professional development as well as clinical supervision audit and effective practice development. Manage and maintain the staff roster ensuring sufficient and suitable staff levels. Manage and carry the emergency ‘out of hours’ phone on a rotational basis. Monitor and manage staff sickness, ensuring that there is a reliable system in place that allows the recording and analysis of staff sickness, causes and trends. Support staff wellbeing and reduce sickness.
Hold appraisals and personal reviews and work towards agreed goals. Be a clinical leader and role model, sharing your expertise with colleagues in the clinic. Take part in team, professional and personal development activities and encourage continuous development and improvement. Monitor the performance of the department based on agreed key performance indicators: e.g., staff working hour utilisation, clinical indicators, staff and patient satisfaction
data. Make sure that all staff follow and comply with policies and procedures, including health and safety policies. Lead operational and recruitment, induction training programmes. Give advice, guidance, information and effective decision making within the clinic. Protect patient confidentiality at all times according to Information Governance Policies. Manage the nursing department on a daily basis. Keeps stakeholders updated on any changes to a patient’s condition. Deals effectively and quickly with changing health needs. Starts emergency treatment plans for unexpected situations both clinical and operational. Responsible for managing and prioritising own work and that of junior staff based on the needs of patients while on duty.

Requirements:
Registered Nurse (NMC) Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an outpatient department or ward as senior staff nurse
or above Post registration qualification relevant to practice e.g, orthopaedics, pre op assessment, teaching and assessment Clinical expertise and competence in orthopaedic speciality Teaching/Me
qualification Sound knowledge of CQC standards and responsibilities. Good understanding of Policy together with the ability to propose change to practice post audit or complaints
Experience of delivering an efficient effective service within budgetary constraints, Excellent communication and diplomacy skills
Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term plans for the clinic, Strong people management skills, evidence of supervision and ability to
lead and maintain evidence-based practice
Ability to independently, prioritise and organise resources
