Regulatory Lawyer - Hedge Fund

MERJE are working with a top-tier hedge fund in their search for a Regulatory Lawyer to join its Legal & Compliance team in London. This is a critical role where you will be heavily involved in the firm’s trading strategies whilst contributing to the design and implementation of their UK and European compliance program ensuring they remain fully aligned with regulatory standards.

Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be responsible for a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues that affect the firm including:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
• Advising the firm’s investment professionals on regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with the wider legal and compliance team in other global offices
• Support trading and investment activities conducted from London.
• Working on long-term projects to enhance the firm’s compliance infrastructure and maintain the firm’s high standards of compliance with new and existing regulations.

Skills/Experience

• Law degree and strong academic record
• 4-8 years PQE - relevant experience gained at a law firm or in-house with an alternative investment firm
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and financial services regulations, particularly those affecting FCA-regulated MiFID investment firms.
• Strong interpersonal, and project management skills are essential
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate across a wide range of stakeholders
