Job Description - Reintegration Mentor

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and thrive in education?

We’re working with Educational Trust, to recruit a Reintegration Mentor for their innovative Respite and Reintegration (R&R) provision. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by helping students re-engage with learning and reintegrate successfully into mainstream education following internal exclusions.

About the Role:

As a Reintegration Mentor, you will be the key figure in delivering personalised support and learning plans to students within the R&R provision. You will play a vital role in coordinating internal exclusions, developing behaviour and mentoring strategies, and liaising with a range of professionals to ensure every pupil has a pathway to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the Respite and Reintegration space
  • Develop and deliver structured, cross-curricular learning and mentoring programmes
  • Support students in reintegrating back into mainstream education
  • Manage pastoral care for a caseload of pupils with behavioural, emotional or social challenges
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour using systems like My Concern and SIMS
  • Collaborate with Heads of Year, SEND and Wellbeing teams, and external agencies
  • Promote good attendance and support transitions to alternative provisions where needed
  • Provide half-termly reports and data analysis for SLT review

About You:

We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and highly organised individual who is committed to helping students achieve their full potential.

You will have:

  • Experience working with students with challenging behaviour or additional needs
  • Strong mentoring and communication skills
  • A child-centred approach with a clear understanding of safeguarding and inclusion
  • The ability to plan, deliver and monitor tailored support programmes
  • Confidence working with parents, external agencies, and school leadership
  • A collaborative, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference
