Our team of Relationship Managers provide designated support to a wide range of businesses, of varied sizes and industry sectors, within the Small to Medium Enterprise market. 

 

You will be managing your own portfolio of business customers and collaborating with colleagues across Business Banking and other Specialist departments, you will be supporting and servicing their banking needs, including lending and deposit arrangements for both existing and new customer relationships.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Glasgow office. Responsibilities

 

What you’ll be doing

 

You will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a portfolio of business customers, typically, ranging in borrowing from £75k to £500k with turnover less than £6.5m.

A key focus is placing customers’ interests at the centre of every interaction, providing excellent service, and collaborate with other Specialist Departments, identifying appropriate cross‑selling opportunities that meet customer needs, while maximising income for us. Role holders will support customers in their day‑to‑day banking needs and solve complex queries where required, in a timely fashion.

 

The position requires ongoing monitoring and analysis of financial data, alongside meetings with customers to understand performance, processes, and risk. This includes identifying early signs of financial stress and vulnerabilities, taking timely action, and ensuring full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and FCA regulations.

Contribute towards the team’s financial performance objectives, developing strong relationships with existing customers and onboarding new customers, providing lending solutions and securing new deposit arrangements. 

 

About you

 

As a minimum you’ll have Business Banking experience, with sufficient technical financial skills to allow you to assess businesses, analyse financial statements and understand risks, providing solutions to retain existing and attract new customers.  This will include:

 

  • Experience in managing and/or servicing business customers
  • The ability to understand financial accounts and other information to identify opportunities and issues for both new and existing customers 
  • An understanding of banking financial products and services, and an awareness of risk management practices
  • Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal which will be used to manage stakeholders, within your business customer base
  • Able to adapt to and reprioritise various workstreams, throughout the day, whilst under deadline pressure
