For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

About the Role


 


Join our Rugby site as a Reliability Engineer to help deliver exceptional performance on our Canning Lines. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a World Class engineering environment that supports our site scorecard measures and aligns with the Britvic Work System (BWS). This role offers opportunities for specialization and professional growth through in-house and external training both in the UK and abroad.


 


Role Responsibilities


 



  • Partner with operational teams to improve key business results while ensuring all machinery adheres to Health & Safety and Environmental standards through effective risk assessments, hazard elimination, and proper PPE implementation.

  • Develop and implement robust planned maintenance programs to minimize Equipment Failure Downtime and prevent catastrophic failures, while sharing knowledge and creating SOPs for engineering and operations teams.

  • Apply advanced fault-finding diagnosis skills and root cause analysis to improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) metrics.

  • Maintain effective relationships with site operational teams, providing clear communications and resolution plans while promoting cultural change and cross-site collaboration.

  • Support the development and deployment of the Engineering department's vision and strategic plan for energy, equipment, and maintenance.

  • Drive continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical standards while working alongside CI, Maintenance Manager, and Asset Care teams.

  • Manage engineering budget effectively, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work with contractors using proper permit-to-work procedures.


 


Experience and Key Attributes


 



  • HNC/HND qualification or equivalent in an applicable engineering or technical discipline, supported by demonstrable experience in a similar role.

  • Extensive experience in strategic, target-driven manufacturing environments with a proven track record of maintenance service delivery.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within production environments, preferably in fast-moving FMCG settings.

  • Experience with complex Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Man Machine Interfaces (MMI), and SCADA systems.

  • Proficiency in implementing safety systems including isolation procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage both internal teams and external contractors.

  • IT literacy including Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
