We are recruiting for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join a large, fast-paced manufacturing operation in Barnsley.
This is a key engineering role focused on improving asset reliability, preventative maintenance and equipment performance, while supporting the wider engineering and manufacturing teams to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
The Role
* Develop and optimise preventative and proactive maintenance programmes
* Improve the reliability of electrical, mechanical and automated equipment
* Analyse equipment performance, recurring failures and breakdown trends
* Lead escalation of complex breakdowns and liaise with OEMs
* Improve asset care and maintenance strategies
* Support maintenance planning, machine overhauls and equipment upgrades
* Develop maintenance procedures and technical documentation
* Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and engineering problem solving
* Support CAPEX projects and equipment obsolescence planning
* Improve machine availability, reliability, efficiency and engineering KPIs
* Work closely with Engineering and Production to drive continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
* Apprentice trained or qualified within Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Experience working with automated manufacturing/process equipment
* Strong understanding of PPM, preventative maintenance and asset care
* Experience with RCA, fault finding and problem-solving techniques
* Knowledge of OEM maintenance and asset care recommendations
* Experience planning machine overhauls, upgrades or engineering improvements
* Strong analytical and organisational skills
* Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Food/FMCG manufacturing experience would be advantageous
This role would suit an experienced Reliability Engineer, Asset Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Asset Care Engineer, Maintenance Reliability Engineer or Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to move into a reliability-focused position Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
