Relief HGV Driver

Our client are a well respected Builders Merchants proving building supplies to a mixture of commercial and residential sites across the Kent region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Relief Driver to join their busy branch near the Margate area in Kent.

The role will be mostly based in the Yard as a Yard Operative where you will use a counterbalance forklift to load and unload the HGV HIAB vehicles in preparation for deliveries to be made, and to unload deliveries coming onto the Yard. Additionally, you will assist with customer enquiries on the yard and help put purchases onto the customers' vehicles.

The branch has 3 HIAB vehicles and you will be responsible for covering all periods of absence from the drivers whether that be holidays or sickness cover. There will be a minimum of 16 weeks of Driving cover but this could be significantly more if the need arises. You do not need to have your HIAB as the company are happy to train and put you through your ticket, however a HGV license is essential for you to be able to fulfil the role.

Our client are offering a starting basic salary of £35k (DOE) with bonus, pension, 31 days holiday, company discounts, and employee benefits programme also associated with the role.
