We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking an enthusiastic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join their successful Humanities department from September 2026.

The Role

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to explore different beliefs, values and ethical issues while developing critical thinking and respect for diverse perspectives.

Key responsibilities include:

* Planning and delivering high-quality Religious Education lessons

* Creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences for students

* Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress

* Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement

* Supporting students to develop analytical, discussion and evaluation skills

* Creating a positive and respectful classroom environment

* Contributing to the wider success of the Humanities department and school community

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

* Have experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting

* Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for RE

* Be committed to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons

* Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills

* Have high expectations for student achievement and behaviour

* Be a positive and collaborative member of staff

Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed and fully encouraged.
