A secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated and reflective Religious Education Teacher to join its humanities department. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a subject that encourages critical thinking, empathy, and global awareness, while supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the option of KS5 depending on experience.

• Develop a curriculum that explores world religions, ethical issues, and philosophical inquiry.

• Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes discussion, respect, and engagement.

• Use assessment effectively to support student progress and inform teaching.

• Work collaboratively within the humanities team and take part in whole-school activities and initiatives.

• Encourage student participation in wider opportunities such as debate clubs, enrichment sessions, or interfaith projects.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level; KS5 experience is desirable.

• Confident subject knowledge and an understanding of relevant curriculum developments.

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

• A commitment to inclusive education and the development of the whole student.
