Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for testing and implementing accounting-related projects and developments. This will include responsibility for accounting processes, controls, procedures and documentation.  Additionally, to ensure that changes are effectively communicated to the wider finance and business community.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• To assess the accounting impact of ledger changes and migration impact arising from the planned upgrade of the bank’s Loans and Collateral module.
• Propose and implement mapping changes in Equation and in MIS where applicable, and/or create any new accounts required
• Review of MIS requirements
• Testing of downstream impacts of new module across finance, including financial, management and regulatory reporting (working with existing FCD staff)
• Responsible for FCD oversight of migration, including testing of take-on balances, accruals and P&L impact
• Assist with the follow-on stage of Integrity Treasury Management System – implementing hedge accounting from the Integrity hedge model
• Other ad hoc tasks as directed by FC or CFO

Qualification & Experience

• A qualified chartered accountant (ACCA, ACA, ACMA) or equivalent international

Competencies

Essential

• Technical IFRS knowledge
• Project experience
• Able to manipulate large quantities of data
• Banking experience, including exposure to IFRS 9 hedging loans and interest rate swaps

• Excellent systems/computer skills (Excel)
