Field Applications Scientist


Classification: FLSA Exempt (USA Only)


Reports To (Dependent on Location): Manager, Life Science Applications; Director, Sales & Applications, Japan; Senior Country Manager, China



SPECIAL NOTE TO APPLICANTS: This position is primarily based in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics.  Candidates must currently reside in this region for consideration. 



Summary


This hybrid technical and commercial role supports customers using Indica Labs’ HALO, HALO AI, and HALO Link platforms for digital pathology and image analysis. This role combines scientific expertise, customer engagement, and sales to expand and support research customers’ adoption of Indica Labs’ software applications.


 


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide expert guidance to customers to identify the most suitable software solutions for their research and workflow needs.

  • Deliver engaging software demonstrations both remotely and on-site.

  • Manage software trials and proof-of-concept studies to support customer evaluation and adoption.

  • Support commercial efforts by participating in seminars and tradeshows or giving technical presentations or posters.

  • Train customers using remote conferencing or on-site visits.

  • Provide ongoing technical and scientific support to existing customers.

  • Support the workload of Field Application Scientist team.

  • Qualify new leads, issues quotes, and report back on quotations and outcomes.

  • Regularly update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.

  • Assist in the preparation of sales statistics and reports.

  • Perform ongoing account management duties for assigned accounts.



  • Responsible for the appropriate accessing and handling of electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) as outlined by policy and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.

  • At least one (1) year of laboratory experience (academic or industry).

  • Authorization to work in the United States, or appropriate authorization to work in the applicant’s current home country (Indica Labs does not sponsor work visas)

  • Valid Passport for international travel and willingness to Travel Internationally



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with pathology, digital pathology, histology, microscopy, and image analysis.

  • Previous experience in a customer facing or applications role.

  • PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

  • Experience using Indica Labs’ HALO software



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.

  • Basic skills in Information Technology (IT) and network knowledge.

  • Confident delivering presentations to small and large scientific audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

  • Ability to listen, understand and respond effectively to customer needs.



Location


This position is based at our headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, and is a remote position open to candidates currently residing in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics.



Working Conditions and Physical Effort




  • Up to 50% global travel on short notice.
